Ski Trip with my best friend Laura, her partner Stefanie, and their friend Betsy. This was not only my first trip to the West, it was also my first trip to Canada as well as my first trip to the Rocky Mountains. Needless to say I was overwhelmed, and the fever got into my blood. I started laying my plans for moving to the West, which eventually came to fruition.
The trip was amazing (even if it was -2 degrees the night we arrived). We stayed in Canmore (it's so cold there in the winter you actually have to plug your car in at night -- a novel experience for this Southerner), and skied in Banff and Jasper. The mountains were breathtaking (from beauty, not from cold), and the whole trip was rather magical. I highly recommend it, 2 enthusiastic thumbs-up!
I haven't made it back since this trip, but I really want to visit Banff in the summer. Maybe soon!
